Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

ADA-Expert, Inc. believes the web should be usable by everyone, regardless of ability. We design, build and test this website to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the same standard we use in our own audits.

How this website is built and tested

  • Accessibility is part of the website’s own code: meaningful headings and page regions, text alternatives for images, visible labels and clear error messages on forms, and text and controls that meet WCAG AA color contrast.
  • Everything works with a keyboard alone. A “Skip to main content” link is the first stop on every page, and the element that has keyboard focus is always clearly outlined.
  • Pages reflow without sideways scrolling on screens 320 CSS pixels wide and at 400% browser zoom, and they follow your browser’s text size and reduced-motion settings.
  • Every change to the website is tested automatically on every page against the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 Level A and AA rules of axe-core, together with keyboard tests at desktop and mobile screen sizes.
  • No overlay or artificial-intelligence tool rewrites the website after it loads, and the website does not depend on any third-party accessibility script.

Accessibility Menu

The accessibility button in the bottom-left corner of every page opens the Accessibility Menu, where you can adjust how the website looks. Your choices are saved only in your browser (no cookies, nothing is sent to us) and stay in effect on every page until you reset them. The menu works with a keyboard and with screen readers, and its labels are available in 53 languages. It offers:

  • Adjust Font Size: make the text smaller or larger, from 10% to 200%.
  • Highlight Title and Highlight Links: outline every heading or every link.
  • Dyslexia Font: show the text in OpenDyslexic, a typeface designed for readers with dyslexia.
  • Letter Spacing, Line Height and Font Weight: add space between letters or lines, or make the text bold.
  • Color adjustments, one at a time: Dark Contrast, Light Contrast, High Contrast, High Saturation, Low Saturation and Monochrome.
  • Reading Guide: dims the screen above and below the mouse pointer to help you keep your place.
  • Stop Animations: stops CSS animations, transitions and smooth scrolling.
  • Big Cursor: shows a larger mouse pointer.
  • Reset settings: returns the website to its default appearance.

The Accessibility Menu adds to, but does not replace, the accessibility features of your browser, operating system and assistive technology. It includes open-source work; see the third-party notices.

Compatibility

The website is built with standard HTML and ARIA and is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on computers and mobile devices, and with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack.

Known limitations

Some forms, documents and older pages are still moving to this new website, and some downloadable documents may not be fully accessible yet. If any part of the website does not work for you, contact us and we will provide the information or service in another way.
